Post your question in the 8P section - your car is an 8P not 8L. I don't think it's a problem that will go away by leaving the car off for 3 days or 3 years unfortunately.

Seeing as you can get any plate made up without a V5 surely it doesn't really matter? If someone really wanted your plate they can just rip the whole surround off.

It was mapped at 109k, an upgraded turbo kit at 111k The main concerns are turbo and clutch/dmf when mapping and it's had all of them upgraded. I wouldn't worry though with 96k.

And then post it to your house... wouldn't take the chance if he's got some dodgy mates. Wouldn't be the most elaborate way of nicking a car. I got a blade and got it cut and Timpson for less than a tenner. Was a HAA key though, I think 8P keys are the same virtually.

If you call Audi or go into a dealership, if the car hasn't had a registration change then they should be able to tell you the colour code.

Why not just go and buy another 2.0T Quattro with the required spec? I understand it was your car but who knows what the current owner has done to it, it's not really any different from buying a completely unknown car unless they've only had it a few weeks...

One on Autotrader here with 130k 77k isn't that much really. If I could get an S3 I'd probably get that and stick a big turbo on it!

Just a thought, but if the barrel is just a switch with an immo coil, couldn't you have the button installed, with a relocated immo coil on the dash (or wherever), place the keys on the dash and hit the button? If you just hit the button then you wouldn't be able to start the car anyway...

These S4 LED systems look really good I think, wonder if anyone has done a similar thing with an A3? Only issue would be the lights in the clock face like handbrake or traction control I suppose.

Had a 1.4T as a courtesy car from Audi. Great fun but then I drive a 1.6 so was enjoyable feeling the turbo kick in. Economy was ok but not fantastic if you enjoy booting it every now and again. Heard they can be mapped to 200 BHP. I'd probably go for the diesel (never driven one though) as...

Why does removing the DPF give such a performance increase? Better flow out the exhaust or something? Do only the 170s have DPFs?
