I'd personally say go for it or at least give them a call to find out what it's about. Also interested to find out what it is as I'm running the 2010 1.6tdi...
The Concert head unit supports rear speakers and the sub, so you'll probably find you already have it - it is located in the boot behind the left hand trim panel. The Chorus head unit won't run the factory sub/rear speakers and as such is usually the head unit fitted when cars don't have the sub.
As you can't easily find it I'd guess that you've probably got the double din Audi Symphony head unit, in which case I believe the cd changer is built in to it and it plays mp3 cd's...
As it stands now you should only need to take the head unit out, the end of that cable routes to the top right rear of the head unit apature, it'll probably take a bit of feeling around but you should be able to find the small plastic tube that slots into and guide it into place.
"Safe" in the display is indicative of an immobilizer problem, as is the cutting of the engine immediately after starting. Are you sure you've swapped all of the keys innards over? I believe there is a small microchip that people often miss. Easiest way to check is if you've got a spare key give...
Don't use sandpaper it's far too abrasive for use on headlights, if toothpaste isn't doing the job then try a fine polishing compound like brasso (I did my instrument cluster with this and it's come up like new)
Just to confirm the above, missed it first time around but it's actually referenced on rosstechs website.

Sure, that's mine. If it turns out you've got the same then I'd be very interested to see your coding! :)
(Edit, my coding for the module is as follows)

Yeah they're not cheap unfortunately, I make retrofit harness' so buy in bulk but with postage the connectors still come in around 50p each, some far more than that lol. I believe what you're after are either going to be quadlock connectors or junior power timer connectors, however if it's only...
So if you have an early 2009 car there is a chance of getting it to work, after a look into this I believe this will be because some of the early facelifts were still fitted with the old type central electrics module.
However if you've got 3 52pin connectors going into the central electric...
Yeah sorry mate I am looking, unfortunately I'm mid move at the moment. I know the invoice is still in the jiffy bag with the leftover connectors but I have no idea where that jiffy bag is at the moment! If I can't find it this weekend I'll have a skim through their website as I know they're on...
Not on my facelift, if you can tell me how you've managed it I'd be very interested to know as up until now I didn't believe it to be possible without retrofitting auto lights...
Coming home lights work of sorts on the facelift without the auto lights pack, you need to code it in and then flick the light stalk before getting out. Unfortunately you can't have leaving home lights at all without the auto light pack :(
The brown and additional blue connector look a lot like the factory CD changer harness, I'd say the car probably had the cd changer but has since had the Ipod dock fitted in its place.
