Hi, a mate of mine has just bought an X-reg 8L A3 and wants to install his Sony MP3 head unit. Does anyone know if there is an adaptor available (and if so where from) which will enable the HU to control the Audi 6-disc changer in the boot?

I just upgraded my BOSE speakers to Alpine 171A components which sound great and fit with no clearance problems. Mine are amped but I'm sure they should also sound ok running off the concert. I paid £75 for mine from caraudiosecurity.com.

I was just thinking of driving it from one the outputs on my Kenwood HU as the internal amp isn't going to be used and it has a 4x45W output!

Andy - I'm not sure if my amp is 2ohm stable but will need to check that first before buying new speakers. Apparently there is also a small 5cm centre speaker on the dash which I'm guessing is also 2 ohm. Are these available to buy in 4 ohm version do you know? Thanks.

Hi does anyone know where the BOSE amp is in the TT Coupe (2003 model)? I want to disconnect it and connect the speaker wires going into it to my own aftermarket amps instead. I thought this would be easier than running new speaker cables to each speaker, which would be difficult up front...

Shouldn't really need too much bass up front, you can get that from that rears or even a sub. Have you got an equalizer setting on the HU - you can turn the treble down on that!

Hi does anyone know how to unlock a Sony cassette stereo (old style XR C450RDS model or similar) because the one in my sister's car has locked recently since the battery was changed! Basically it is stuck in Date mode and nothing else will work! She doesn't have the manual and I can't find it...

Thanks Andy, that was a very useful reply. I will test the amp stand alone, and with the battery earth to see if its damaged before re=connecting. It was an Intimidator XS so not really a good brand in my opinion, just something powerful enough to drive my sub! What do you think about earthing...
