I had a problem with my passenger side one, disconnect the battery, leave 1/2 hour then unplug the connectors under the seat, give the pins and connectors a clean, squirt with WD40 and connect back up. you will need to get the light reset though through vag com

I was advised not to go the single mass route, Got a new clutch, dual, mass oil change a bit of fault finding done, 3.5 hours labour for £780 last week, I was on 91k with the old one. I think its always advisable to change the flywheel whenever you do the clutch anyway.

Nah i did have B5 perches lined up but i couldnt be bothered ripping the shocks out to fit them , its all still standard.
