James, looks like the new engine is holding up then. 150 is just about run in :icon_thumright: there's some good figures on here but if you have a scout around TDIclub.com there was a few B6's with over 500k on them  Sold my b6 just before 150 and it was smooth and well behaved.
That sits well. The reps look to have the dish right too from here, unlike the majority of reps and A3 8P and A4 B7 S Line wheels.
OEM B7 RS4's are 9" wide BTW and they do stick out too far for a B6 sadly - some people do still run then on B6 A4 and S4's but they stick out too far. The VMR...
Hi chaps, it's been a while since I've been on here. Am potentially looking to get back into a B6, ideally a 1.9 TDI quattro sport but looking at the 1.8T's too - just the dreaded sludge worry puts me off slightly. Same with the 2.5TDI's too, cracking motor, but I know a few have had issues...
I was pretty set on a 3.0TDI before I got the B5 RS4 too. Also considered the B6 and B7 S4. All great cars and will probably move to one of them in the future if I can hold back the urges for a C5 RS6. For now though I am very happy where I am. :icon_thumright:
Yes S4 is EVEN MORE appealing with a supercharger strapped to it. Gotta love the torque of a TDI though too, especially a tunned one with quattro.
That's Amanda's car from SRS.com / 246.com. Full decat milli and remap too, sounds wicked. Cracking plate too. Didn't realise you where at ADI James, was thinking about coming down but left it all a bit late. Next year perhaps...
Ditto, mine drove like it had 40k on the clock when I sold it. I'd be going for the diesel over the N/A 2.0 petrol, as you've mentioned fuel economy but you'll also find there is a mountain of torque available in the diesels and it will feel faster. If you want to map it later down the line...
fourcircle, that sounds really, really good. Love the drive by video, could tell you where having fun.:eyebrows: Need to cut it early to get the Astra estate out though he's stealing the limelight.:p
Timing chain tensioner is a common failure on the V8 S4 which is an engine out job, that would be my biggest concern. The V8 is massive in a small space though so not the easiest to work on. The V6 takes up enough room as it is and a dealership would be trying to take that out for a clutch...
I think you'd need to spend quite a bit to get a 2.0T even if it was the later 220BHP car up to the 344BHP of the S4.
S4 will be heavy up front though, more expensive to run and maintain and a lot of the jobs require the engine out, meaninging potential ££££ bills. I'd still find it a hard...
Upper grille is the same size across the range so straight swap. S4 lower grille needs popping out of the surround and trimming a little to fit the S Line lower surround, but looks the dogs when done. There's definately a few pictures of it completed and fitted in the S Line lower valance on here.
