    Stage2 R-tech results

I always tested on a bench with a little setup and wouldn't get any discernible drop on a gauge. Never tested with Leak detection fluid, but I'm sure a tiny leak wouldn't cause any performance issues surely? as its just a drop in the ocean with the amount of air the turbo pumps. Will that be the...

    Stage2 R-tech results

Still not a bad result considering all the problems, just a few expensive parts thats quite easy to fit and a turbo refurb and you'll be laughing LOL loving the ASN 007P scare mongering... amazing! Classic forum behavior right there, there is literally going to be a flock of 007p DVs on ebay...

    crashed!

Yea been a nightmare in the village I live in. The main road is shut so everyone has to go the back road 5 miles into town, just sheet ice and everyone is stuck down there. Iv got a 4x4 but under no illusion that it makes braking traction any better. Couple years ago I was in my van and was...

    S3 millage,, hmmmm

Nobody's debating they don't have strong engines Jardo. It's just everything else. I wouldn't get another 1.8t as I'm happy to move on from that era. Well happy that I no longer have to mindlessly fork out for coil packs, Mafs, top mounts, injector seals, various hoses, Exhaust manifolds and...

    S3 millage,, hmmmm

I would hardly say irrelevant, there are still a fair few bits that would be worn regardless of service. The turbo would be the first that comes to mind. I wouldn't personally buy at that mileage because I would be thinking of resale. But if you think about it, that would be average mileage for...

    Sticker bomb

I quite like it. Looks quite good if doing a small section. Not sure if I would have the guts to do it though as i like polished clean cars

    bit of advice needed

I'm quite limited on my phone, but this might help if you haven't seen this : http://www.powerflex.co.uk/products/S3+Mk1+Typ+8L+4WD+%281999-2003%29-602/1.html The trailing arm bushes are number 4. You will find that due to the age of these vehicles, they will mostly be past their best. My...

    bit of advice needed

No the trailing arms arn't the ones that break, that's the tie bars. The tie bar bushes are cheap and easy, the trailing arm bushes are not so. I would go for poly bushing either way

    Ds3000 pads. Where from?

But on the plus side, they made the standard s3 brakes eye watering!

    Ds3000 pads. Where from?

They do generate **** loads of dust, and if you don't keep ontop of cleaning your wheels, it will ruin them. They also wear discs at an alarming rate. When I bought mine for my old 8L, I think the pads cost more than the black diamond discs.

    Breakers: Recommendations

The car needs a new rear diff? Assuming your talking Quattro, I wouldn't touch it unless it was extremely cheap. Problems with the Quattro haldex system can be worse that you think, and there is never a definitive fix. But if you're still looking for parts, remember to look at TT parts as they...

Warranty repair on roof! Its begun!

I wouldn't worry an out them not blending, a decent body shop can make them blend fine with the correct thinners. I also don't get the good will gesture! They need to get a grip, a good will feature comes if its only just out of warranty not before! If its within warranty they should be paying...

Strangest mod in history on used S3 has set me back £500 quid

Good job, but I don't understand why people mount them there, when I did mine, I mounted it on the battery cover, looked much tidier. Does it feel any better?
