Thanks. Sadly it gave up the ghost at my mum's house, 300 miles from my own place. The cost of recovering it plus not having room to properly store it at mine (I already have 3 other cars plus the 8v) and a bill north of £1k to pass its next MOT meant it just wasn't going to make sense. I...
Afternoon,
After just shy of 19 years of ownership and at just over 22 years old, last month I sold my Noggy 8L :nogarors4: for breaking:cry:.
Hopefully she'll help to keep some of you on the road for a few more years.
Thanks for everyone's help over the past 19 years. I'm off to lurk on the...
Not sure if you have a 16 inch wheel in mind, but the standard S3 calipers and disks will clear certain designs of 16 inch wheels. As an example the European winter steel wheel/ snow tyre option were 16 inch.
I used this one to replace the microswitch controlling the height adjustment - section 74.

Yep the offer was £60 off their 'normal' price. Current Costco offer is £50 off 4 Bridgestones in 17 inch size or £70 off 18 inch. Offer runs to Sunday 25th but there will be another one next month.
If you are anywhere near a Costco and know someone with a card they regularly have deals on Michelin / Bridgestone / Goodyear.
I got four Michelin PS4 225/45/17 fitted for £275.95 back in March.
I've gone from DS2500 on the S3 to the stock Brembo pads (and discs) from ECP bought - funnily - with a 50% off deal. Can't fault them for the price but that said my days of ragging my S3 around are long gone.
My trackday Cordoba, however, has gone from DS2500 to DS3000 and all I can say is - wow!
I converted my track day Ibiza and then the Cordoba that replaced it. If you are replacing wheels frequently (i.e. road wheels to track wheels and back again) they are a god send, especially if you are running spacers.
Got the bits from Bill @badger5
I've never ever seen a Mocha one before! Only available at launch and then immediately discontinued (although the colour has subsequently appeared on other more recent VAG models). Anyone ever seen an Ochre one?
I've had mine for 12.5 years, starting to show her age (will be 16 in January). Planning to keep for a few more years until 8V RS3's are sensible money.... I was very impressed with the RS3 stand at ADI. Even the Noggy 8V was there.
I was having fun in my Cordoba. Including several seconds with all four wheels on the grass when I over ****** it on Camp! Foot flat to the floor and bounced my way back onto the black stuff eventually....
Not necessarily the innards, check the outer part of the switch. There are small plastic clips that hold it in place in the dash. These can break off and get stuck in the mechanism so when you twist to turn on the sidelights, the broken bit of plastic forces the switch out slightly putting on...
