i would say it's most likely the coilpack. If it's hard to start could be the MAF, but i say Coilpack.

just checked, although they do list your model from 96-03, they only list prices from 1999.. doh..need to get the book! check pistonheads and autotrader for a general feeling on price...

Nope they are polished Chrome, in Pro's made in Germany...

It will be the ones on the left, as in their listing compared to all the other listings it doesnt state matt chrome at all... so they will be supplied with mirror finsh chrome. and yes they are plastic, but the best available apart from a genuine Audi product, which will cost you the best part...

Goodluck with the new car buddy.... I had a wee sniff around a white one in Audi the other day...lol.. I always wondered why the parts depts are at the other end of the dealership, and you have to walk past every new model to get there lol!!!!

if they are cold, then there is a blockage in the system or a failing headgasket, other symtoms are the temp gauge shooting up... I wouldnt worry about this, as i dont think thats your problem.. I honestly think it's just a dodgy sensor, as they seem to be the only thing that is consistently...

check the oil, if all is ok then i dont see why not, also make sure your heaters are blowing hot air on idle..... Defo go to the dealers in the morning, or get 1 very helpful local, to run VAG-com tonight for you :icon_thumright:

could be a dodgy oil/water temp sensor???
