This Months Evo new S4 and RS6

Adam, I can see where you're coming from but I don't accept that Audi are incapable of sorting out the dynamics of the S4. What they have created is totally intentional and designed to appeal to a target consumer - slightly wooly jumper, a bit reserved but wanting to appear sporty without being...

Coil Packs - has anyone got one!

[ QUOTE ] I wonder if they can be repaired? Can't be too much in them, presume it's just a coil and perhaps an electronic switch? Does anyone know if they can be dismantled? If so, then I bet I could fix one. -Dan [/ QUOTE ] Well, Mr Fix it! there's one way to find out - why don't you...

    Thank Audi for Quattro/ESP

Yes I agree that big tyres make things worse - like great big snowshoes which mean that pressure on the point of contact with the snow is lower than with thin tyres. Interesting as well reading about all the accidents just from a couple of contributors - imagine what the impact on the insurance...

    Stranded!

It'll be interesting to see if it is inded the coli pack - my wife has an A3 1.8T so I guess that if this cold weather persists she is in dange of getting stranded.

This Months Evo new S4 and RS6

Well I think Audi are to blame - they could have put a couple of smaller turbos on it like they did with the S4 and then when the RS4 comes along give it the full-on, steriodal treatment. This would ahve meant that the car more than matched the M3 performance in its mass market (S4) form and...

What kind of company car do you get?

I think it depends on the terms of the fuel card. If it is strictly for business use only then I'm not sure of the benefit - but if it covers private mileage too then for £230 per month (£2800/12) then it is certainly worth having.

What kind of company car do you get?

And there is a major tax loophole with a fuel card which can be considered a genuine perk as the tax payable is a fraction of the benefit.

What kind of company car do you get?

Moff, It depends on what arrangement your company has with the IR. If no arrangement is in place then you can claim back a certain amount for the fist few thousand miles and then a lower sum thereafter. The rates are on the IR website. Best thing to do though is to contact your local tax...

What kind of company car do you get?

Yeah getting a cheque is really good but for me this is changing with the tax element being built in or added on to the lump sum. Strange system - my monthly allowance after tax goes up to £490 per month but I cannot claim back any tax at the end of the year. Ergo, I use the train as much as...

What kind of company car do you get?

10p a mile is not too bad for a diesel though - if you get 40MPG you're into pocket and at 50MPG much better off. I get 14p per mile for fuel but I can claim the difference (up to 32p per mile) from the IR which is a nice little earner each year when Santa (the taxman) comes!

What kind of company car do you get?

You're lucky living in Belgium that company cars are not taxed to the limit like they are here in the UK. Leuven is a good location too (great University city with a couple of good Irish pubs!!) If you want to run a decent car here in the UK many people have oopted out of the company car sceme...

This Months Evo new S4 and RS6

cant understand it myself. First Audi recruit the BMW team with a view to developing a true drivers car with neutral handling and a sports setup. But what we get is a load of hype, a car which looks seriously understated as well as being topheavy and no turbos so modding it is a truly...

    My first car;

A brown, Rover 2000 TC with 97000 miles on the clock and V8 badges on (sad). Power to weight ratio of a Chieftan tank with a lawnmover engine on! Spent all my spare time fixing it, new big end bearings, diff, gearbox. Hated it and in the end and celebrated as they took it to the scrapheap...
