One other consideration is the fuel tank size. The diesel comes with a much bigger fuel tank. How many miles can you squeeze out of a tank? I'm regularly doing 300+ mile trips which become 600-700 mile round trips

Thanks for the info. I used to have an early 2000s 3.2 A4 petrol which I am thinking the 3.0TFSI A7 would be similar to. Basically around 20mpg in town and around 30mpg on motorway.
