I personally think that it's very unlikely it'll get a new chassis. VAG have poured an insane amount of money in the MQB platform. VW tend to release new models much more quickly than Audi do. The A3 8P was out for 9 years. In that time VW released the MKV and MKVI Golfs.

The MK8 will be a new car, not a facelift :)

MY16 is NOT a facelift. It's simply a few small tweaks. The full facelift will appear roughly halfway through the 8V's life, ie. 2017'ish.
