I done a bit of reading on other forums people saying that it's ballast related poor week components? I have a genuine Ross Tech lead would this give me an accurate fault reading whether it's bulb or ballast?

The braided cable that connects to the rear of the lamp I guess this comes from the ballast, does this also connect via a connector to the ballast or is it hard wired out of it?
