I get this almost every year, the stuff Audi tried to sell me was £40 for ~25ml or something silly. All I do once or twice a year is clean the rubber seals with car soap and grease them with a silicon paste. Solves the problem for long enough I don't mind doing it a couple of times a year...

I notice it more in the cold on my A6, sounds like the trye is dragging on the ground. Like others I think it's down to the quattro system not allowing enough slip between the wheels. My oil is also in need of changing which may make it worse.

Would deleting the EGR not affect the DPF and regen, usually these are tied together?

I currently have a tow bar mounted rack and I prefer it to my old rear mounted one. It is much more secure on the back, and I never liked wrenching on the rear one as the straps come over the rear boot spolier, never wanted to break it. Plus most tow bar ones have a light set, so no cords...
