Hi,
I'm helping a friend with a 2005 A3 2.0 TDi (140) at present. We've managed to allow air into the system after repairing a seized calliper and although we've bled at every wheel air remains. I noticed a lot of posts saying that the master cylinder MUST be bled after air entering the system...
Hi, yes it's made by continental or something like that looking at the box. I think you've hit the nail on the head - seems strange that it works ok for a week or so and then fails. I'd imagine if it was incorrectly fitted it would fail much sooner.
Where would you recommend for purchasing the...
Hi,
Many thanks for the reply - just clarify it's this type:
VW GOLF 5 AUDI A3 SEAT ALTEA SEAT LEON 30MM!! REAR WHEEL BEARING & HUB 1K0598611 | eBay
So that would be the Twelve-point bolt without ribbing = 200 Nm + turn 180° further?
I take it that it's crucial it's EXACTLY torqued and is...
Hi guys,
hoping for a little bit of advice on a problem I've been having. The car has been great since purchase almost 8 months ago other than a humming noise which developed recently. Had a friend give me a hand to change the bearing (whole hub assembly- part number CDK1350) but I'm unsure if...
So, stripped it all down and looks nice and tidy - nice new looking timing belt on there (car came with FSH). Got under rocker cover and connector was totally off glowplug number 3 (well 3rd from timing belt end) !
Connected this back up but scan showing the same - loom doesn't look great and...
Hi Graham,
From reading a bit into this it doesn't look like a hard job - it's basically the wiring that runs to the injectors and the glow plugs under the rocker cover of the engine. Cost seems to be between £80-100 so not terribly bad. I'm going to have to investigate and see if this is...
I'll open things up and have a look - from reading a bit more I think you're correct,it's looking like a replacement loom is required. No noticeable effects from this yet but I don't want to wait until I start getting running issues.
Thanks for taking time to reply
Thanks for the pointers - I take it I can use a multimeter and earth it then just check voltage at each one ? Should it be 12 volt(ish) ? Just like to be very careful with the electronics/ECUs etc. on these cars.
Thanks again mate.
Hi,
I recently purchased a late 2004 2.0 TDi Sport (the BKD engine I believe) and although the car runs great I recently scanned it with VCDS and am seeing electrical errors on all 4 glowplugs:
