What make of tyre was that? Pilot Sports? Were they grippy?

I've been told by my local tyre centre that with spirited driving, 19" tyres will only last about 9000 miles whereas 18" will probably do 50% more. Anyone have experience of this?

What's mileage are you getting from your tyres, either 18s or 19s?

To be honest, I always found it hard to second guess the gearbox - its quite good at what it does, only time I used use paddles was while belting up to a roundabout, and wanted a bit of engine braking to steady things up.

It was a fine car. The recession implosion meant it wasn't affordable or appropriate anymore, so It had to go. Sensible cars now !

Fair question. Definitely not on the twisties, I live in Donegal,but I guess there are enough good roads, if non motorway, to get some use out of adaptive. I spend a lot of my time in queues of traffic, so it should be of benefit. Yeah, you are right, southern roads are way better than up North...
