Drove this engine as a manual Seat, had a really nice characteristic thrum I thought, like half a Porsche flat 6 :) Low speed driving was ok, it didnt seem that comfortable on the motorway despite it still being relatively smooth. 1.4 TFSI is a great engine too and would be my choice.

I had this issue on my 1.8 tfsi also (in the rain too weirdly enough) never got to the bottom of it even with Audi, car felt like it had about 50bhp in 1st gear then come 2nd gear its got full power. Turning off traction control seems to fix the issue, which isnt ideal obviously. Especially if...

I echo the above comments. I had my car tuned by Rik and asked him the same question and he advised against it, I still thoroughly recommend you stick with him and I'm pretty certain he can do your dsg map too as he's done them on Golf 7R's. He also has a dyno that gives more realistic readings...
