Good to hear you can turn the rain sensing wipers off on the A3, I've never had any that have actually worked properly. My GTI will flap away like a maniac at a couple of spits of rain, then leave the whole screen covered in it for ten minutes.

VW are pretty generous with the options, whereas Audi like to appear competitive on price, by making everything a cost option. It's not as bad as it used to be though. The B6 was basic AF unless you got into the options list, my B7 is still pretty sparse.

I think I'm going for a FL for sure, they just seem the more sensible buy, given the price difference isn't that great. Would love an S-Line but they almost all have the 25mm lower suspension and 18's, so same problem as the GTI for me. They do look great though. Thanks I'll keep an eye out...
