1.8t bex coil pack part number (urgent!)

Hi, I could be wrong but I'm pretty sure the part number for a BEX engine is 06B 905 115R. That's not to say that the ones you have won't work, though. Have you tried swapping your number 1 coil with a different cylinder to see if the fault moves? Cheers Rick

What spec is my car?? Stupid question I know!!

Looks like a sport with GmbH body kit to me - mine's the same. Rick.

what are the failed coilpack part numbers , ending in j , h r??

Hi, When I took my car in for coil replacement I was originally told (after about an hour's wait) that they didn't need replacing. Using some of the information here http://12v.org/urs/28E9CoilReplacementCampaign.pdf I complained to the dealer. After an exchange of emails they apologised...

    B6 A4 BEX 1.8T Metallic Rattle

Hi Nic, Does it still do it when the aircon is switched off (i.e. in Econ mode)? I have a 2011 VW Polo that makes a similar noise when the aircon is on but is quiet when it's off. I haven't done anything about it yet so don't know if it's actually a fault. Just thought it may give you...

Anyone know a decent mechanic close to sheffield?

Hi, I've used Nick Thompson - based behind Hillsborough leisure centre - for several years. He's an independent VAG/BMW trained specialist. 0114 2315377 if you want to get in touch with him. Hope that helps. Rick.

    running probs since oil change

Well it seems I spoke too soon! Mine started misfiring again yesterday on cyls 1 & 2 + a random misfire. Called the AA out (who diagnosed the codes). He swapped the coil pack in cylinder 1 for a new one and the problem appeared to go away. Put the original back in and it had still gone away...

    running probs since oil change

I had a similar problem after an oil & filter change on my 1.8T about 18 months ago. After driving about 15 miles it started misfiring as though one of the coilpacks or spark plugs had failed (it had just had new coilpacks fitted on the 'recall' and I'd fitted new plugs at the same time). The...

1.8T 190 intermittent Missfire on Number 1 cylinder

Mine's still running fine at the moment. if and when it starts playing up again, the O2 sensor could be a good starting point - thanks. Jasdent - please let us know what happens if you change yours.

1.8T 190 intermittent Missfire on Number 1 cylinder

Thanks Az. Something else for us to think about and potentially investigate if and when the fault re-appears.

1.8T 190 intermittent Missfire on Number 1 cylinder

Mine's running fine this morning *touches wood*. I really don't know what to think. As you say, we can't be the only ones. People have been scaring me with things like sticking valves but if that was the case, wouldn't it be sticking all the time and not intermittently?

1.8T 190 intermittent Missfire on Number 1 cylinder

No obvious signs of a wiring problem on mine - I ckecked the wires to number 1 cylinder as well as I could without stripping the whole lot back to bare wires. It does sound like you have a similar problem, Jasdent. I don't think coilpacks need any kind of reset to be accepted, only to get rid...

Right-ho. I'll have a look and report back. Thanks

1.8T 190 intermittent Missfire on Number 1 cylinder

Hi and thanks. No, I haven't. Presumably I'll need to strip back the sleeve and check the wire all the way back as far as I can? Or is it likely to be under the rubber grommet part near to the plug where it enters the coil pack? My car has only done 34000 miles so I wouldn't expect too...

1.8T 190 intermittent Missfire on Number 1 cylinder

Hi All, My 2004 A4 1.8T, BEX engine, has developed a missfire on cylinder 1 (as confirmed last night by the AA) with the engine management light flashing. It happens typically when driving up a hill under load. The car has had new coilpacks (courtest of Audi) and new spark plugs in the last...

Concert stereo - speakers working intermittently

The only other thing I had done was a replacement rear passenger side seat belt due to it not retracting fully (leaving about 5" slack) when not in use. The dealer I used didn't question anything, just did the work. Take it in, I'd say.

Concert stereo - speakers working intermittently

My A4 has been into the dealers today to get the intermittent driver's door speaker fixed (under warranty). They replaced the part of the wiring harness where the speaker wires go through to the door and all's OK.

    drivers window/door 'creak'

Yes, I was having a closer look last night and I came to that conclusion as to why the door seal could cure it. Thanks for that - I'll give it a go at the weekend. By the way, I did a search and I think it's KRYTOX. Cheers Rick.

    drivers window/door 'creak'

Hi - mine does this as well. I'm going to try the 'Grytox' fix - but it seems to be the window that's making the noise (it stops when the window is moved down very slightly) , so how will lubricating the door seals make a difference? Am I missing something here? Thanks!
