Really struggling here guys,how an earth do get the threaded sleeve out (aux tentioner)when its impossible to get a spanner behind it to remove the 13mm bolt?trying to fit the new bushes without joy..any help would be much appreciated.!
Does anyone have a guide or any tips on how to remove the aux tensioner bracket and spring on my AKE 2.5tdi...ive got the new bracket new belts and pulleys as the old one has failed and has started to rub on the cover. Ive really struggled to find a how guide on removal..

Well quite a constructive day,gave the old girl a full service.Also replaced my worn out drop links and arb bushes..its definitely sharpened up the steering feel which is a bonus!
Just clocked 184k today still going strong,also treated the old girl to a new needle lift sensor which has made a noticeable difference in performance and mpg thank god!

That garage sounds like a bunch of cowboys lol .I trust my local mot station to honest mate,its not worth them loosing there business turning a blind eye also risking peoples safety. I wouldn't want to drive a car that wasn't 100% .
Also lucky for me the last owner kept her in top...
Right just spoken to Audi head office...they have confirmed that 8E0 513 036 AF (in black) are the correct shocks for my (1 BE) coded car.
So I can only think that Audi have stopped powder coating there sports suspension red!.. Anyway just received my new oem bump stops and dust covers from...
Update! Having a bit of a nightmare with this..I've been down to Audi and got them to order part number 8E0 513 033L listed as (gas filled shock absorber/for sports-type running gear)to compare the AF and L. I've been told it will take up to 6 days to arrive from Germany...So the wait goes on.
Going to try and sort this out this morning with audi parts, not that happy as i wanted to fit them this weekend.So just jacked my car up and checked the part numbers and its says 8E0 513 033 G.:think:

Right...just got a friend to pick up my new rear shocks up and they are powder coated 'black'?
I thought they should be red oxide in colour for a sport model? The info on them says Part number 8E0-513-036-AF and made by MONROE.
(So I rang Monroe Uk as Audi are shut to see if they could shed any...
Just ordered a set of rear shock absorbers from Audi Watford,for my 2002 a4 Avant 2.5 v6 tdi sport Quattro.
Code (8E0 513 036 AF) (oxide red colour) £195.39 all in for the pair.Should be with me tomorrow lunch time if I'm lucky...
The question is are they fairly easy to fit?
