ok, so after fiddling with the data and trying to get it as clear as possible from what we logged, i have come up with this graph. annoyingly vcds could not get group 115 (specified boost) to show, so we just decided to log as much as seemed relevant, hence why there is specified v actual intake...
my cab boot opener solenoid/motor recently died in the "unlock/open" position which meant that the boot would no longer close, and it just bounced back open again.
that was fun tearing my boot lid apart, in the dark, and in the rain. just what i needed.
new motor was £32 from audi.
i have AA cover, and got offered an AA "prestige" warranty, which sounded like a good deal. "total" cover for £22 per month.
have had to battle tooth and nail to get anything out of them any time i try and claim, including trying to exclude me from cover on technicalities, which i got...
you could run a diagnostic using vagcom, which would turn up an error code in the air con motors/flaps.
i think the motors are around £70 ish i think, and will more than likely to be a bitch to replace as i think they are mostly located inside the central dash, behind where the stereo is.
if you want to do it yourself you need to get your immobiliser code using a certain program (i wont mention as im not sure im allowed) which will probably cost you around £60
then you need to buy a key, which you will need to make sure is the same frequency as your existing one, and then...
ok, here are some pics of my fugly install lol
n/s headlight. you can see the red lead coming out of the ballast and the high voltage unit zip tied to the existing structure

here are some night shots for colour match. apologies for the poor quality of the first, looked ok on my phone screen...
you can edit the backgoround image of the unit too. you can just about make out the audi rings logo that i have added to mine :)

i went for one of these
http://www.caraudiodirect.co.uk/kenwood-dnx5240bt.html
looks totally OEM, the red colour illumination is a perfect match, the satnav is a pain to start with (coming from a mobile phone based tomtom6 system) but now i have it nailed, it is so much more flexible. the...
my advice is to buy them anyway, wherever you manage to get the ballasts mounted you will not be disappointed with the results.
i will try and get pics up over the weekend, not had the opportunity all week with work and nearly zero daylight hours lol
after looking at your other repair thread, i realised mine isnt broken, what IS broken is teh little pin that connects the end of the damper to the glovebox hinge. phew, no need for immediate repair.
the light switch makes perfect sense. i looked at it quickly and though that teh damper was...
i'll try and get some pics for you soon. but in the meantime, i can describe where i fitted them.
i used some approx 0.5" thick high density foam stuff as an anti-vibration mount base. just behind the n/s headlight there is a plastic mounting structure, which looks like something is actually...

came back on the other day for HID conversion guides, finally bit the bullet. i still dont think i have ever seen your car around, although weirdly a mate described seeing an S4 cab with wheels like mine (a while ago) so i knew it was you lol
i miss the...
