Well I’ve put another pump in that I got from a breakers and am sure I can here that lifting but still nothing at the filter.
Now you mention it though, the filter etc will be dry and I probably haven’t turned the ignition on and off enough for it to prime itself. Remember changing the fuel...
Car died and have found that there is no fuel getting to the filter.
There is power getting to the lift pump in the tank so guessing that rules out the relay and means the pump itself is knackered?
As soon as the monsoon stops I'll get one of it fitted. Still need to fit the door cards and to pick up the rest of the interior plastic in black! It'll get there slowly.
Seats are in good condition considering the car they came out of had 300k+ on the clock!
Finally got round to getting it lowered. Replaced all suspension components in the process and now it drives like it should.
Also picked up a half leather/alcantara sports interior from a B7 for a very good price on fleabay. Good week!
Am I imagining that I've seen a thread on this before?
Fitted HID's today and on the short test run I took this evening the fans were running constantly which is not normal... coincidence?!
I had this exact same problem. Noticed loads of wind noise after replacing regulator and after looking could see that the door wasn't sealing properly.
That was a cheap regulator which snapped and when I eventually replaced that I managed to get it to seal a little better but it's still not...
My car had one fitted when I bought it and I only found out when I had to shell out £1200 to get the gearbox reconditioned!
Has a DMF in now and honestly couldn't tell the difference but I'm sure it had something to do with destroying my box!
Mines a 5-speed AWX.
Just received new shocks and springs ready to go on in the next couple of weeks but the rear shocks don't have the lower mounting bushing which I'm assuming I will need.
Anyone know the part numbers for these or where I'd be likely to find some online?
Thanks!
It's been blanked for so long I can't really remember what it was like before!
Definitely remember after fitting it thinking it was more responsive and no more black smoke!
I completely removed the EGR and fitted the delete pipe, looks cleaner and is completely un-restricted. The EGR valve...
I think the calipers themselves are different as well. They do come up on eBay... occasionally. Not a popular upgrade though so I'd bet there'd be a set in a breakers somewhere nearby.
They're too busy striping the front caliper carriers and flogging them for a fortune!
Ah didn't realise some B6's had bigger. Apologies!
Pretty sure you could just take the rears from a B7 and keep your 312's. Might alter the bias but not dramatically.
I was also looking to do it purely because 245's look ridiculous!
Had a look into this myself a while ago...
IIRC the B6's fitted with 312mm fronts still had 245mm rears but some of the B7's (2.0T) had 320mm up front and 288mm rears which would be a bolt on upgrade.
All sorted with a balance. Apparently the amount of mud on the wheels had thrown them out... awkward! Better invest in a pressure washer!
A little surprised they said it didn't need alignment doing as I've had it over 3 years and it's not once been done!
Morning all,
So yesterday about 10 mins in to a 110mile journey I noticed the car was shaking uncharacteristically. At slow speeds it can only just be felt and I only picked up on it as I drive it everyday but at motorway speeds it is very noticeable. Felt unsafe to drive above 70mph as it was...
Bought the same springs as specified in the linked thread. Looked (not for very long) for shorter but decided I'd just cut to size.
Haven't even fitted the spring yet, the updated struts are too much IMO so am going to buy some less forceful ones and then fit it all.
Conveniently my struts had just gone so I replaced them with the ones for a C5 A6 today and have bought the spring etc to complete the rest of the mod.
The power behind the struts is ridiculous! I have to hang off the boot and wrestle it closed. Mrs has no chance!
Will by some normal B6 ones...
