I'd buy exactly the same car but I'd get a AA inspection before I bought it, and I'd take it straight to Audi for an inspection straight afterwards. That would have saved me a hell of a lot of money. :)
That's fine mate, just needs a bit of T-Cut. :D
My sister 'money shifted' her track car and put a rod through the block. It was not a pretty, or salvageable, picture inside that engine.
Should be a really interesting project and other than the engine committing seppuku, it looks a really...
It does sound mapped, the stock 1.8t's and TFSI's I've had felt torquey, but nowhere close to what a mapped car feels like.
I always found VAG did their best to hide the turbo on their stock maps, it's all very progressive.
Remapped cars tend to really kick you in the **** when the turbo spools.
The cost of paying someone to do all that, plus what you could get for your car with a fresh MOT, would probably get you a much nicer A4.
What I'd recommend:
- Get a years ticket
- Bide your time and wait for a really nice one to come up
- Get an inspection done to make sure your not just...
It could be the more advanced ignition timing that 98/100 RON fuel allows, doesn't agree with your car?
As the car can push the timing up with a 98/100 RON fuel and will drop it back a bit for 95.
I haven't got the first clue why that would be, but it might be worth looking into?
The results...

But I think it makes more sense than fitting a a FWD 6MT box and clutch, then pulling it all apart again, and then fitting the quattro.
And as you say, if you pull it all off the same donor, it prevents any mismatched ratios or other problems.
I sold my FWD B7 for a...
I usually get renewal quotes around £700-£1000, when my premium is about 280.
Weirdest thing last year, my current insurer emailed me a renewal offer that was really good, like the best I could find.
If they keep it up I'll stick with them!
I originally got my (very similar) B7 because I need light steering and a comfortable seat due to my health. So I had to give up my usual BMW's.
But these cars have really gotten under my skin and I'm on my second. They just do everything so well. Fast, practical, dynamically excellent and easy...
you might have more luck finding a high spec German saloon if you go for a 6 pot. You're deep in rep/fleet land with the 4 pot diesels, so original buyers tend to go easy on the options list.
I wouldn't buy a car with a 50k gap in the service history.
There are enough cars about to not settle for one with potential troubles and a rough interior. I'd find another one to look at. :)
