Ok, time to replace suspension as i've found some now! i'm getting lowered struts and lowered springs, not coilovers.
What else do i need to change at same time? Bump stops etc?
is it worth changing anything else while doing this?
decided to bin it after running on my 2nd tank full. i managed to get 44mpg out of 2nd tank on the same journey i do weekly (Reading and back) when i normally get around 52-54mpg. also seemed to lose a little power.
The cost saving disappeared when you consider the mpg. i suppose emissions...
which one of these would be ok for 1.9tdi B5?

anyone using these or know if they are ok?
had the car up on a ramp, sorted the anti-roll bar link, major creak on front drivers side. sounds like the spring is dying! :sadlike:
Ah well, may be time to buy the lowered coilovers then! :)
maybe a mong question, but are coilover the full suspension i.e. shocks and springs? and that would be all i need to purchase?
Obviously i wont be fitting them!
Also, what is a good site to be buying Audi parts from? ie kevlar axle bushes and the like? Google constantly throws up breakers...
found a supplier later yesterday PM for new handbrake. it arrived this morning!
it was 2nd hand for £18 delivered next day you cant argue! will get the aerial connector and try that. cheers.
all arms on front have been replaced, 3 had died when i bought it, so had all done anyway.
will get the suspension checked while the anti-roll bar link is being done tomorrow. its a fwd 1.9tdi. The noise is similiar to that of air hissing out etc...
i think its the back, but its hard to tell. it happens sometimes as the front goes up and sometimes when back goes down. its hard to do it on purpose if you get me!
am i looking stupid prices for the choices above?
when you say built in do mean attached via sticky pads one either side of glass? this is a v flimsy aerial... poor reception... i think its an after market one.
Have just taken a pic:
my suspension is making funny noises when going over speed bumps, it is also quite wobbly on braking and turning.
i think its time to replace. the question is:
i want to improve the handling, but not lose too much comfort. how do i go about this and can anyone recommend??
Ta in advance...
just phoned my local dealer, and he told me to go to a breakers yard!
Dont have time for that.
Does anyone know any good sites for parts? I also need a rear parcel shelf and an aerial (although i may just go and get a new one fitted) and the console cover round the stereo (in walnut).
arriving in readin for my usual weekly trip, i pulls up at the hotel and find that my Handbrake Ratchet has died! i cant lock my handbrake. luckily its fairly flat in the places i park!
How easy is it to fix this? i know the brake and cable are fine as have lifted the lever while moving...
a garage has just opened up down the road selling biodiesel for 78.9p a ltr. Question is, i know that it may need a fuel filter change (when i run it on this alone) but is anyone out there already doing this? any issues?
It appears that it is made from recycled veg oil, not rape seed...
