Hey Daggerit, no dice on the OBD flash of the 3.0Tdi, it's a different type of ECU and as far as I know, we're one of the only companies offering OBD flashing of the Simos ECUs as found in the S4/S5/etc.
Hi shab!
I've driven both in standard and mapped forms. The 3.0tdi is nice--it's super smooth and if you're looking for a nice touring car, good on motorways and fuel economy, this is you're clear choice. A mapped 3.0tdi is comparable to a standard s4 :) The standard S4 should only be purchased...
B8 S4 all day every day. There are considerably more performance options available that will take its power well beyond an RS4 I've daily driven both, and while the b7 rs4 is a beauty that sounds heavenly, it's also a petrol-guzzling, underpowered pig. I'd only own one if it had a supercharger...

As far as I'm aware, the component failure must be proven to be a direct result of the modification for warranty exclusion.

This exists in America and from what I've read and experienced throughout Europe, there are similar laws at play...
Yes. If apr or its authorized distributors are responsible for a failed Ecu it would be replaced by us.
I don't have a dpf delete calibration for that engine yet, but it is something we're very interested in making. Could you pm me your details--I'd like to discuss this further with you.
Daggerit, these are all valid concerns, but let me ask, if your ECU is removed and opened and reinstalled with little-to-no visual indicators of removal, what's your worry? Even if they caught it, has anybody had their full powertrain warranty voided? The worst I've seen is a dealership refusing...
I wholeheartedly disagree about ECU removal being the safest method of remapping. OBD flashing eliminates so much potential human error! Fortunately by now there are many tuners out there who are good at removing/opening/resealing/reinstalling ECUs without any problems. While very rare, the...
I promise I do more than breeze about maintaining APR's "coolness" quota ;) Thanks for the kind words P--glad to hear the map is treating you well. Let us know if you ever need anything!
I can understand your hesitation with regards to warranty and how it would make a warranty situation much easier. While I can't comment specifically to the quality of the TMC product, the thing that scares me about "plug-in" solutions, is that they can only block/fake signals to and from the ECU...
Hello everybody!
There's a lot of good talk in here about the 3.0TFSI platform and I'm here to add to it and offer myself as a resource if you have any questions.
Regarding the quote above, there are significant gains to be found from a stage 1 remap (without a pulley) from most major tuners...
