For anybody else interested. This was fixed by fitting some rubber hose around the top of the front coil springs. I believe Tein sell a silencer rubber product which does the same job if you don't want to make your own.
Sounds like it's probably the same thing then. The noise is quieter since the mechanic took everything back apart, greased everything up and put it back together.
I see the people that have fitted lowering springs on other cars sometimes get the same issue and remedy it with rubber tubing on...
I only see one part number for the S3 H&R Sport Springs which is 50343 and that's what I received when I ordered from ECS. The car doesn't have mag ride.
We fall under the Central and South America market but I doubt the parts would vary from North America or Europe.
Hi all,
Was hoping I would get round to posting a build thread on my car here in the Cayman Islands but unfortunately it looks like it will be a help request first.
I recently had some H&R sport springs fitted to my 2015 Audi S3. Since having them fitted there has been a knocking when turning...
That does make sense. You are up in Canada aren't you? Were you able to get all the options that you had wanted? I understand a lot of people in North America weren't happy about not having the option to spec the SS seats.
That's what I thought but apparently it's not the case. When I originally went in I had wanted a manual but was told due to the market it wasn't available. By the way we drive on the left so they come as RHD out here.
I recently picked up my S3 after a long 5 month wait. After looking through the forum I have noticed that the base model out here (Cayman Islands) seems to feature a lot of options that are add-ons in other regions. We get the 285ps version due to the hot climate.
For example mine has the B&O...
I love the color and everybody has been commenting on it. There are a couple of panther blacks, a daytona, a red and a sepang over here but I feel I definitely made the right choice (plus the sun is very unforgiving out here on some colors). Can't see from the photo but it also has the pano...
Was following this thread and thinking about getting the feature disabled when my car arrived because I only encounter a light amount of traffic to and from work. Car arrived yesterday and when I asked the dealer he stated that the car didn't even have the feature as they don't put it on cars...
I have seen 3 on the roads over here (Cayman Islands) which were all saloons/sedans. Panther black, daytona grey and one of the red colors. There is only one dealership here so when ordering mine I was able to ask what colors people had gone for already.
I was in the same situation as you with both those vehicles being the options. Land Rover dealer never got back to me and I'm glad they didn't as I think I would have got bored with an Evoque after a while. Went with the S3 and now just waiting for it to arrive.
Sorry to drag up an old thread but I have a 2015 S3 sedan due to arrive here in the Cayman Islands this month (can't wait!). The market here is 'Central and South America' and we get the 280 hp model. Can anybody tell me whether the only difference between the hot climate and euro spec is a...
Oh great!
My S3 is due to arrive here in the Cayman Islands shortly and takes the same route as far as I'm aware. Guess it's going to be a case of waiting and hoping for the best!
