no NDA, not sure on a release date, but I imagine it will be as soon as they can. I’ll show some pics when I’ve fitted it. I’m sure they won’t mind. Free advertising!
Just specced up a golf r to the same spec as my s3 and it was £45k!!! £4k more than my S3, which means at least £75/£100 more on PCP. Which is a fair bit!... also my S3 has been on the dyno and it was 318bhp.
After being in the interior of both the golfs infotainment is awful IMO, lack of physical switch’s is a massive pain the in **** and hard to get to things like heated seats etc... 8Y interior much nicer than the 8V once you get used to it. And the saloon looks better than the hatch. The golf R...
I ended up taking a launch car. As the one I ordered (ordered day after order books opened) still hasn’t been built yet. Order books opened 14th August I think. So around 7 weeks.

Nothing else to report yet, only driven 3 miles.
Just a few pictures for now. Will post a first drive video soon. The only thing I noticed from the first 3 miles is the gearbox is noticeably better at shifting, seamless like it was torque converter. Steering also gets progressively firmer.

I was reading your post and thought even £27600 is far too strong a price. And I was right, there’s loads of black editions 18 plate less than 12k miles on autotrader for £27k and less. 30k no chance.
I bought my 67 plate s3 black edition brand new a few years ago for 31k so they’re having a giggle
