I've had the same problem with my 2008 170 Quattro. seabee05 helped me with the part numbers but the Audi network proved as obstructive and obtuse as ever & would only sell the whole prop shaft. seabee05 bought one from Cardiff Audi so I called them (even though they all get parts from TPS who...
I had my car looked at today for fears of dpf issues even without the recall work. Turns out mine's had a dpf delete by previous owner, AND a quite substantial remap. It's running a smidge over 200hp. I thought it was a heck of a lot quicker than my old 140.
I've just had the letter from Audi about the injector recall. I've read too many horror stories on here so I'm binning the letter. All I can read between the lines is "please bring your car in so we can screw it up good and proper and charge you handsomely to rectify it afterwards"
The way I...
My vote too from that list. I did one of these days a while ago but chose one car, an Aerial Atom (just the supercharged Type R engined one). I got stuck behind an R8 V10 being driven by a pro with a ride along passenger and he was giving it full beans. I swear it was like being stuck behind...
My A3 2.0 Tdi Quattro has one of the rear wheel bearings gone (and I foolishly replaced the diff thinking that's what it was..oops) so I'd guess quite common. My garage are testing the car to determine which corner has gone but I suspectI'll end up having both rear ones done as a precaution.
My noise persisted after the diff was replaced. reason being, the diff wasn't at fault after all, it was a wheel bearing but the noise was transmitting through the rear axle. So now I have 2 diffs for my car! I've put the other one on the classifieds at £300.00 if anyone's interested.
D'oh!
Had the car in at garage again & they've driven it extensively this morning. Anyhoo... Westy, may I offer you a sincere 'D'OH!!!' and allow you the pleasure of doing a told you so dance all over the bonnet of my car..
It's a sodding wheel bearing! I'm so relieved and at the same time kicking...
This seems to be a different issue. I don't have any vibration & it's not engine speed related in any way, just road speed above 40mph in any gear, or neutral, clutch in or out. I have the car going back to Volksmaster tomorrow so they can drive it & see if they can pinpoint where it's coming...
Do you mean the noise persisted even after the diff was replaced? I've just had mine replaced (with a used one off a car with 34k) and the noise, albeit quieter is still there..
New diff in place, tracking was out hence the car feeling drunk so they've sorted that & all is well... or is it?
Nope. The noise is still there albeit a lot quieter. MY fears are now that the used diff I bought (off a car that had only done 34k I was told) may have a similar problem...
So my car has had the diff changed... Picked it up this morning. Sooo, anyhow, I'm now driving a black 52 plate Golf courtesy car. drove my A3 all of 100 yards & turned right back to garage. The steering wheel is cocked to the left & the car drifts hard to the right if I let go of the wheel...
Diff arrived today. The car is going in on Monday & I'm relieved because it's noisier by the day & is quite worrying so I've been driving in a very christian manner indeed...which sucks.
Hopefully this will sort the issue once & for all..
