Pretty sure the plastic cog holds the spindle from moving in or out. Mine failed the MOT as there was too much movement without the cog connected.

I had to replace the headlights on mine due to the plastic cogs slipping in the metal spindle. The metal had rusted and not gripping the plastic. Whatever you do, do NOT buy from ebay, the cheapo DEPO lights are not worth the money

Looks like my camcover is leaking. Does anyone know what gaskets are needed when changing the camcover gasket? Seems like the whole inlet needs removed to access it. Or does any one know of someone that sells gasket kits for the AGN? I've had a search and not found any

I'd say £1500 to £2000. I was looking around recently and that seems to be the going rate. At that age and mileage, the condition is key to how much you can get. The main worry would be the turbo at that age. I presume it's not original. That's what I like about my 1.8 non-turbo as a cheap...

Never mind, found the leak. It's slightly seeping out the plastic pipe that bolts to the cylinder head above the gearbox. There are about 3 pipes coming off to hoses and the hoses are all dry, top side of that cylinder head edge is dry too. Looks like it's the join from plastic pipe to cylinder...
