    Faulty PCV ????

Just a quick update, the car is having some tests done a week on Tuesday. The garage are checking the turbo and pumping pressurised air in to the cylinders to see what happens. They also mentioned a smoke machine that highlights blockages, leaks and breathing problems.

    Help!!! Audi A4 2.0tdi issue

We had the pre-heaters done on our A3 tdi 140. The engine check light came on then, not the glow plug light. Didn't effect the running of the car though so your's could be injectors. A mate had this prob with a Golf tdi and got some injectors from a breakers yard for next to nothing.

    Faulty PCV ????

it can according to others cause undue pressure in the crankcase forcing oil past the piston rings, that's what I have read on other posts/forums.

    Faulty PCV ????

Cheers for that. If the new Audi version doesn't make any difference on oil use I'll consider one of these. Looks complex though!? So far the car is running better, low rev pull is way better with a much smoother tick over. It's quieter too even on the motorway, the exhaust used to be quite...

By the breather pipe do you mean the rippled alloy pipe that goes from the rocker cover to the turbo air inlet?

    Faulty PCV ????

Fixed. Version C out Version N in. Car feels better, smoother and let's hope the oil consumption improves. The old PCV was gunked up and didn't have the rattle of the new one.

    Another 2.0 t oil question..sorry!!

I got the same issue. There seems to be a fix if you have deep pockets as worst case scenario it could be bad piston rings

    HELP - using 1ltr oil every 600miles!!!!

Hi all, thanks for the comments. Castrol seems to vanish quicker than Mobil 1. I've tried the VW branded stuff and halfords own brand and they all last about 600 to 800 miles a ltr. I'll check the coolant though (sidibear) to see if it's contaminated. I'll have to live with the oil problem as...

New tyres for A4 3.0 Tdi Quattro - advice sought

The downside to pilot sports is the circa £200 price! I am about to order some for the front as they are on the limit and the cars doing that annoying clunking thing on full lock that all quattros do when the tyres get low.
