    There is also a slightly different technique to driving diesels, which might account for some. Change gears a bit earlier, and let the torque pull you up, rather than revving up into the next gear.

    I've gotten 43mpg out of the first tank full I've put into mine (it's a Quattro, too). That was with some "testing", too :) I expect that to go up, possiby with the aid of a remap/tuning box...
