Got the same letter for my Passat which have the same problem, now to dig out my invoices from last year when Ireplaced them 'cos "there is no known issue with the front bearings..."

Wando,
did you get these, I have them in hard copy and can scan easily if you still need them. Had a long drive of the V6 sport and 2.5TDI and am undecided on the best engine for this chassis..

OK, so after not even 6 months on EBC Green Stuffs on std disks the front nearside is warped. Had a chat with the dealer this morning who said "friction materials not covered under warranty" so I was wondering what the general consensus is for a UK spec, 26 month car with 24K miles on the clock...
Cheers Guys,
I think ultimate aim is do something about body control without affecting ride quality too much. I drive the car daily and last thing I need is crashy ride.
So in conclusion sounds like H&R springs with Koni shocks is the way to go...now to work out the damage!

Hi,
I'm interested to hear your thoughts on suspension kits or shock replacements to get a little more body control out of the chassis.
Anyone know if the shocks/springs of the latest (lowered) models compare well, or if aftermarket manufacturers are a better way to go.
cheers

i've just turned 4000 miles and I can honestly say that my car feels much faster and more responsive than it did after the 1250 miles run in service. I've been told it gets better too. Hard to imagine!

What is it like to be able to rev her up past 5500 rpm?
I briefly hit 6200 by mistake and I can't wait to go up to 8000. I booked my car in when I picked her up for Feb 12th which seems like ages away
