Hmmm, a bit of cautious optimism now!
The battery does seam to have fixed the random flashing lights and air bag warning as they've never reappeared.
I took the car to Audi who adjusted the throttle position (or potentiometer or something) which made the throttle response better. However...
Cooni i'd like to think that the manufacturers would put in some circuitry to prevent that.
Anyhow, the saga continues. I re-connected the battery this morning no problems, got to work with no problems!
Took the car to kwik-fit, the battery was stuffed and we think was the original...
ah, ****** just realised this is in the wrong part of the forum and should be in the other A3 bit. Would some kind mod please move it?
Managed to get the car home tonight without the lights flashing (eventually). Got home got out and they started flashing again.
Will try a new battery tomorrow...
Hello all,
Right - aside from idling problems that i mentioned many moons ago (http://www.audi-sport.net/vb/showthread.php?t=30414 7th post down) and have yet to resolve I now have a new issue.
This morning went to my car (A3 1.6 2000) and the hazards were flashing no sound from alarm and...
It could just be your fuel filter. If the leak is coming from the drivers side near the rear quarter near the tank then it might just be that. Apparently they're prone to rubbing on the tank and putting a hole in themselves. I got to work one morning and found a puddle slowly forming under my...
Some of you might find this interesting...
I've had idle problems, but it's between 1000 and 1400rpm waves about a bit settles on 1200 then slowly down to 1000. Temp gauge on dash was reading a solid 90 under most if not all driving conditions. However having read about these been prone to...
Yeh. I tried driving it with the MAF disconnected and it drove *****. To be honest though i didn't drive it long enough to see if it would still idle funny with the MAF disconnected. Would you recommend i give it another shot?
Have tried replacing the coolant temperature sensor this morning and...
Yep, sounds like filter to me. I had a small puddle under mine when i got to work one morning. The Green Flag man couldn't decide if it was the filter or tank as it's common for them to rub together and put a hole in one another (usually the filter thank chuffty). The garage fixed it for...
Right, sorry to keep draggin this out....
With all this talk about contaminated fuel lately got me wondering. When i had the throttle body cleaned out donkeys ago (as mentioned above) the mechanic used WD40 to clean it out, the idling issues only started happening after this clean out.
Could...
I changed the one hose mentioned in my original post (30 somat quid) and can't seem to find any other problems with any other hoses. Sadly that didn't fix the problem. My local garage did suggest it could be a temperature sensor that's gone (presumably coolant but i'm not sure). Does anyone have...
Hmmm.
Long story made short, i bought the car 1.6 Sport 2000reg, it had the external temp display on the DIS. But the dash dials didn't illuminate so the whole dash computer got replaced (at dealers expense not mine). When it came back it had no external temp display but it was a few weeks...
Sorry to resurect this old thread for my first post but i have something similar. No problems on acceleration so i don't think it's the MAF (what's a TPS?), it's just the easing off the throttle at lowish revs where it jerks.
I don't know whether or not the two are linked but i also have an...
