From what I understand (from Audi UK), there will not be a 1.4 or 1.5 Tfsi from MY19. The only petrol option (other than the S5) will be the 190bhp and 252bhp 2.0 Tfsi a. Not sure what will happen longer term with prices as the 1.4 is £2k cheaper, which helped us spec up the car (tech pack...
I think the 1.4Tfsi is perfectly suited to my wifes needs which is primarily town driving. It's 150BHP. the 2.0tdi engine in our old C6 Avant was 140BHP and was perfectly fine!
In any regards, it's now a moot point as I've heard from Audi uk they will be withdrawing this engine from the A5...
planning on buying a new 1.4tfsi sportback. Does anyone have any experience of this engine? The dealer only had the 2.0tfsi for a test drive, but keen to go for the 1.4 and spec out some options the wife wants, e.g pano roof and park pack.

Just read your post again. Why oh why would you even consider paying 4k a year for insurance. By a scooter, save the cash and buy an s3 when you're 21!
audi a3 1.6 P-reg in cactus green was my fiirst car when I passed my driving test. Was fine, but incredibly slow, still managed to write it off though...
If you're in Uckfield, go and see Ben from Parsons Performance! They're in Uckfield. I drive from surbiton to get my car sorted by him...
You can PM him on ASN (username is Benjamin)
I'd be suprised if they don't up their offer around £2750. Factor in the £500 quid you were about to pay for a service and it's not too bad at all. Not sure what all the £1200 chat was about...
