Hey nope, the ZF transmission specialist said the clutches show no sign of wear, and no burnt oil, no metal filings and no fault codes, so they say it isn’t clutches, they think it’s stuck in “learning mode” plus it only does it at 15mph all other gears and speeds are fine no sign of slipping...

Well I think it’s worth it for the sake of how much they cost, other than that next step is to strip the gearbox and physically check the clutches, torque converter etc for damage :(

another update, the gearbox guys have checked it over again, and said could be a Mass airflow sensor issue as the requested value and the actual value are about 25% out, any ideas if that could be it?

Is that sensor in the box itself? I did consider that, I changed the abs/wheel sensor as it was faulty, thought that may have affected it And yep software is up to date Audi stock now on both engine and gearbox

ok so another update, rang my tuner, they have looked at a full 30 min drive diagnostics chart i sent them, it looks like my transmission oil temps are very very high recommend max is 120 degrees c and apparently mine is running up to 185 degrees! this indicates that the oil is destroyed or on...

i think i checked the Torque at the time of all the 'slips' it didn't get anywhere near the 600/700 mark, it appeared to slip at even 300nm, thats what confused me

ok so been in had my bearing and sensor replaced, all fault codes are gone! but the issue is still here............. out of ideas now, have done a full drive test and managed to get it slip about 8 times on a short run, i have gathered the results on an excel sheet not sure if anyone here...

Did you ever notice any issues with your gears when the sensor went? And yeah I think I may have wrecked my bearing too! So bought a new one to replace as well as the sensor.

that is what i am hoping my friend! it seems highly likely that this will fix it too! booked in for monday also changing the bearing too, incase the magnetic strip is goosed too.
