Hi, I currently have an S3 8v DSG pfl. I’m looking at potentially getting a B9 S4 petrol. I was wondering if the S4 is gonna be much worse on fuel than the S3? I currently get between 23-25mpg on my daily commute which is about 3 miles roughly. Thanks!

Ah okay. I’m glad you got it sorted mate, I’m getting my dsg serviced soon. So hopefully it’ll be the same case for me mate

No idea mate, when I got it serviced. They said that there was a gearbox fault in the system. But no code, which was weird. They road tested it and it was completely fine. That was 6 months ago & it’s still completely fine. Launches okay, shifts are fine etc

Mine was leaking for the coolant hose flange. But I’d agree with the comment below that it’s probably water pump or thermostat

Got it sorted, it was the engine hose flange. It had perished really bad, causing loads of coolant to constantly leak. Thanks for your help!

The leak got really bad today, red coolant light come on during my commute to work. Topped it up, was gonna again by the time I got to work. Apparently it got really bad on the way to work, red light come on. Pulled over, topped it up and it was empty again when I got to work. Which was about 5...

Not yet mate, it only started happening yday

& also, sorry for replying in parts but the oil temp was around 103 which is fairly normal from what I’ve seen from driving in the past. I don’t know how to see coolant temps on the S3 tho as the boost gauge is there

Hi, vague question. It looks like I have a coolant leak on the back of the engine of my 2014 S3. Would that be caused by a cracked hose?

They’re saying it’s deffo not haldex as there would be a code stored in the memory for it

I’ve asked them if they’ve took it apart and cleaned the guaze filter and pump when they checked it the other day, cheers

Hi guys, in a pickle here. So I got my haldex serviced last week at a vw specialist. Car was perfectly fine for a few days after, took it out Monday and I keep getting loads of wheelspins when I full throttle or launch. Took it back, they’re saying the haldex is perfectly fine. No leaks etc...

Hi, I have a 2014 S3. I was wondering if anyone has done a coolant flush on their car and has a video or a good step by step walkthrough to help me out? I can’t really find much online & im not too clued up on how to do it myself. Thanks.
