Why not the Thule system?

But the easiest to install without rails but very sturdy once installed.

That's a good point too, I wanted to make the switch from 5w30 at some point. I'll use 5w40 in the next oil change.
Thanks!

Thanks for the tip guys, she's booked on tomorrow for other things so I'll ask for a quick check up on the spark plugs and cylinders health.

I too prefer light colored wheels on dark cars. Bright Silver would be my preference, I never regretted the silver 0Z I put on my dark blue A3.

Oh, not sure if related but I've also seen an increase in fuel consumption. Engine and transmission is tuned with unitronic stage 1, since about 4 years.

Hi everyone,
I've observed an increase in oil consumption in my 2.0 TFSI (ccta). It always drank oil to some degree, but I'm now adding almost a liter every 1000km.
Now I hear the PCV should be changed as the first step in this scenario. I changed mine for a new OEM one 4 years (60 000km)...
Plenty of good options in Canada. For OEM stuff I prefer germanoem.ca.
For aftermarket (and some OEM as well),
wctperformance.ca/
eurosporttuning.com/
amtuning.ca/
As for fsi vs TFSI, it's confusing but Audi uses the TFSI while VWs from same gen uses TSI. But I believe they are essentially...
Bit of a front end visual overhaul. New grille, headlights polished, new fog light covers and S3 style mirror caps. Now if I can get the bumper properly repainted the project will be completed.

That being said, might be a good idea to make sure the spark plugs and coils are fresh. They will likely wear out faster.

For the 8p normally, for most tuners the only upgrade required is the down pipe. Several tuners will recommend an upgraded intercooler and an intake, but that's optional at least with unitronic tunes.
I'm soon going stage 2 myself as soon as I get a downpipe. I'll be fitting an upgraded...
Nice, kinda regretting not going coilovers myself.
Now, while we're there, might as well change the ball joints right? Passat ball joint are needed for the the Passat LCA? Or is the Passat LCA accepting the A3 ball joints?
Thanks for the help tcardio, appreciate it! First link you posted is actually one of the reason why I'm considering this setup :)
From the second link you posted, specifically this message https://www.vwvortex.com/threads/suspension-spec-thread.5509737/page-33#post-81989623, looks like the RS3...
Hello,
I'm thinking about refreshing my front suspension, especially around the lower control arms. I own the 2012 A3 sline since about 6 years and as far as I can tell, all is original back there (11 years old). From the look of it they are not that bad, but the car has been pulling to the...
New DSG cooler installed, as it was leaking oil. Brake fluid changed and bled properly means the brake pedal feels much better now, way less travel than before.
Next is driveway antiroll bar end links change and oil change. Feels good to give some love to the aging a3. Winter's been going on...
Rejuvenating an old thread with some boring maintenance done on the car :D
Replaced the pretty much destroyed wheel arch plastic liners with some new cheap aftermarket ones.
While the were removed I took the opportunity to change the HIDs bulbs in my facelift bixenon headlights. They looked...
I got two airbag faults after turning the ignition on white the seat was out when I needed to test the rear washer.
With OBD eleven I can see them but can't clear them. When I hold the garbage can I get a message saying the operation was not successful. The seat is installed and all three...
Thanks everyone for the help.
Unfortunately, I could not find anything obvious explaining why there was water up front. I ended up drying carpets and foam, and we added some silicon on one of the joint where there is already a big black silicon-like patch. There was a small gap and looking at...
Mine has 17s from factory, sunk into the arches. I now run those in winter and have a set of 18s for the summer.
Ride quality is much better on 17s, but the trade off is not that bad really. I prefer the looks of the 18s of course, and the smaller stiffer sidewall makes for a better more...
