Just to clear this one up and to help with anyone that has the same issues. Check the rear diff fluid, mine for some reason only had half a liter in there when they take 1 liter. No more clunks!!
Oh really, I will have to look at the pads. It feels like it is coming from the front right. I dont think it's the cv joints because i dont get any vibration and it happens when i go in a straight line or turning corners.
Good morning all,
So as per the title I am having clunking issues at low speeds as in something feels loose. Now I know the B8 S4s have transmission issues and I have addressed that but it feels like something cant handle the torque the transmission is outputting. I checked underneath and I...
Installed this 034 street density transmission mount today. There was so much wiggle from the old mount, now it's much stiffer. My transmission finally feels amazing, no issues and sharp response.
Installed this differential mount kit yesterday and I highly recommend this mod!! My transmission would feel delayed and lumpy at low rpm and now this kit has eliminated this. Gear changes are so smooth and quick now.
So I just fitted this kit 2 weeks ago. First of I had the same lurch issues as you have mentioned down shifting was terrible too. So I bought a transmission tune for it and stage 1 ecu from GIAC. It smoothed all down shifting out and got rid of the lurching. But low speed upshifting was still...
Spent 6 hours on the beast today, replaced the mechatronics board filter and fluid. Now it's running fantastic with my dsg tune and ecu tune!! Time for stage 2.
Check out apr's TCU tune.

I have the same issue and I think I'm going to be getting this with a stage 1 tune. They say they address the clunking when stopping.
I did this job in my garage on a set of car ramps. The unit is heavy inside and its messy. The hardest part was fitting it back in as you have to line everything up, also hold the unit with one hand whilst bolting it in. Try and find a heat resistant tube aswel as I melted a few on the cat...
I have had 2 cars done by this company a few years ago. I had 2 B7s done, 1 diesel 1 petrol. Sounded great and the team there are superb. I don' have any sound clips though unfortunately. Price was great aswel compared to named exhausts.
I had a similar issue last week, the rod behind the brake pedal has a nut check that and see if it's loose, it attaches to your brake servo. Also see if your rotors are warped, this might be nonsense but when warmed up maybe the discs expand slightly causing it to rub that's why it's only when...
I have fixed it, so I will close this thread out for anyone having the same issues. There is a rod behind the brake pedal which has a nut on the end of it which was loose, the car thought I was braking constantly which why I had no power at a stop.
hi all,
So i decided to make a new thread as my issue wasn't due to transmission. Heres my symptoms, I put the car into drive and lightly press the pedal and i have light to no power, the same happens in reverse. To combat this i have to mash the accelerator, but there is still a 3 to 5...
thank you all for the replies, i really hope the new pcb will solve the issues if not i have come across TSB 2011732 which is a software update. As for the part numbers razza1 mine all start with 0B5 for the unit.
Thank you both for the reply, I have placed an order through ecs a couple of days ago just waiting for it to turn up. I have the pcb off at the moment and they look fine I don't see exactly how this unit could be damaged. The unit is completely sealed apart from the ends. I'l swap them out and...
Haha funny enough I have only had to use it once and that was for an oil change, couldn' get the filter housing off.
That' good then there was 2 or 3 flakes maybe 2mm big. Oh no, I have scanned all over the unit trying to look for little nooks. Also there is so many part numbers for each bit...
Here it is, the ugly mechatronics. I decided to pull it out as I have all the seals and what not. I checked it all over, tested the solinoids and nothing everything looks brand new. Even the fluid was nice and clear. There was a couple of metal flakes very small I hope this isn' the issue. I'l...
