At long last I have been complaining about my S4 g/box for 2 years (sorry I know this is an S5 post but basically same running gear) Took my 2017 B9 for its sevice and complained again and they said there was an update . It has made a big differance.

the funky gibbon - I totally agree. But what I can't get my head around is why some people cant detect this issue in their cars. I have an S4 and have driven the S5 which has the same engine and box and both have the same issue .

WillLondon, I would advise test one again but from a standing start and treat it if you are pulling onto a busy roundabout, I have also driven new S5's and they lag as well as the S4, But it is to be expected as they have the same engine and gearbox.

Eddie From what they tell me it is remap plus some hardware to sharpen the throttle response Also ups power from 354 to 425 and torque from 500 to 550 , I agree seems awfully expensive to fix a fault on a brand new car. My old 2011 s3 and 2014 S4 were great unlike this new 2017 S4.

Unfortunately with this model it does not matter which mode you use, the lag is always there. Even if you put the gearbox in manual, use sport or individual mode it makes very little differance.
