The shark fin contains antennas for phone, GPS and satellite radio if equipped. Terrestrial radio antennas are on the rear glass. If you have 3/5 door - there also may be a small grid on the left and right side luggage compartment glass.
Most likely there is a short on the rear glass heater / antenna grid. The grid has the AM / FM / DAB integrated. Is the glass tinted aftermarket? That would be the first place to look.
DRL off with light position "0":
1. Module 09 - Adaptation (10)
3. Go to channel: "AubEnlicht - Tagfahrlicht nur in Schalterstellung AUTO"
4. Change to Active (Default is Not Active)
I noticed this issue was fixed when my MMI software was updated to allow satellite view with the replacement of Google Maps. If you are still under warranty, it might not hurt to give Audi a call and see if they can fix the issue via software update.
Plus 1 for the DRLs off in the "0" position. When waiting for the wife in a parking garage and backed into a space... Everyone driving by thinks you're leaving with DRLs on. Easier to turn them off via switch while waiting... Forever I might add. :icon thumright:
I do not have the number handy but if you let them know there is a bulletin for MMI software update to get subwoofer adjustment, they should know how to look it up to apply it. You can always call up and confirm before booking the appointment to be sure they know what you are referring to.
Did you code the battery to the car? The alternator profile will change once the car is told a new battery is installed. If yes to those you might have something deeper going on electrical wise.
I have experience with 2 dashcam brands. Blackvue and Garmin.
The Blackvue is hardwired into the S3 and is certainly more noticeable than the Garmin. I installed in right in front of the rearview mirror so I cannot see it while driving. The app and video quality is really clear and I have had...
What is your typical drive cycle? Do you do a lot of highway driving or more around town / short trips? The latter would put a bit more strain on the battery as it does not have as much time to charge back up after sitting. I assume you have had the battery changed before or is this the...
Common misconception to spell it as "hydro" thinking water. It is actually hygroscopic. I constantly got corrected in auto school for that one and now lives with me forever.
On another note, those tools are very helpful. I have the tests strips myself.
There is a known issue with flap motors on the HVAC system for the 8V. First step is to save the fault codes, clear them and then run the end stop calibration within basic settings. Usually this fixes the issue the first time. If the fault returns, most likely issue with the flap motor. There...
For us stateside it's 2 years straight out from delivery. Would make sense that Audi can get another year from the factory since it is more of an controlled environment. It can take up to 8 months for some over here in NA to receive their vehicles so I guess they kept it to 2 years.
Interesting to see this for the 7 speed. I have a 2017 with 6 speed so filter changes still applies for my side. I would be curious to see your filter condition when the time comes (if you ever change it that is). I assume your 7 speed still has the filter housing on top of the transmission?
Where did you see it listed for life? DSG fluid and filter should be changed ever 40,000 miles according to my service documents (for the S3 that is). Of course they do modify these quite a bit over the life of the car but it would be crazy to not change the DSG fluid and filter at regular...
Sadly common on VW / Audi models. I use a wire brush and clean the hub surface as well as the inner wheel. Then I apply a very light amount of anti seize compound. Only clean the lug bolts (no compound).
