My 09 had a total gearbox failure at about 50K miles even with correct transmission fluid service. The gearbox was replaced by Audi costing around £9K. If you're on a 09/10 budget and fancy the s-tronic look for a car that has had a gearbox replacement or at least the mechatronic unit replaced...
Sorry I'm sure this has been covered before.
One of my key S4 B8 fobs has died, I've replaced the battery and the red led now flashes. But it won't open the doors or switch on the ignition. Other key is fine.
Any ideas? Thanks.
I agree 20-28 is pretty good, I'm finding the variation on the same journey slightly run strange.
And I'm starting to think accelerating a little harder and driving faster might be more economical.
I'm not worried about the fuel consumption, just interested to understand it.
Turns out the gearbox was replaced about 12,000 miles ago so hopefully that shouldn't present any issues for the foreseeable.
No reason not to go for it then!
