Thanks to all who have replied to ths thread and given me advice :)
I have now had the oil replaced by the main dealer and they have confirmed no damage would have been done due to the oil being within its 12 month life (only managed todo 1500 miles in the 4 months) :). SLX 2 is what I now...
Thats a great write up Ben, I've also go the symph 2 and would like to move to an RNS-E. However I have already got the cd-sat nav. Can the 2 work together or would the cd-sat nav become redundant? Also can you buy the tv module reasonably cheap also?
Has anyone got a pic or could do me a photoshop of a 3-door A3 (pre-facelift) in Avus with athrancite alloys on it? I quite like the B5 RS4 or the ones I have C6 RS6 reps.
Cheers in advance.
Has anyone had a forced oilchange done by a maindealer whilst on LongLife servicing before the DIS actually said so. eg. Oil contamination, new head etc?
If you have please let me know as I have a question i'd like to ask.
cheers in advance :)
Ok, cheers for that Neil.c. I really just wanted to know whether other people who have had their brake fluid service done by a maindealer, but not done as part of a main service have had their service book stamped or updated anywhere?
Anyone add any more?
Do they mean haldex? if so its done on mileage (20k or 40k dependant on age of your car from what I have read, newer cars are 40k). Maybe they have bugged your car and know the without even speaking to you?
Seen 20's on a TT1, way to big inho. I would have thought the handling would be screwed with 20's on an A3 as you would really have to go for a non OEM ET and the rubber's profile would be minute. Plus i thing you will need to be good with a grinder too if you want to lower the car?
Cheers guys, 504.00 seems to be dealers choice, IIRC ths is the replacement for 503.00, 503.01 and others? Brighton Audi are still only going to swap the oil for LongLife 2 which if i remember is now not even available to buy privately ?...so now they are swapping the wrong oil with right but...
Why should you, the coolant system is a closed one and the average person would just see a coolant light reappearing on the dash causing you you to buy coolant and top up and then arrange another visit. IMHO they should have road tested it, let the car cool down then give you the keys back when...
I know i've been trying to clarify some thing in a few threads now for oil in a 3.2 and apologise for doing so again. I would like a bit of up to date info off of other 3.2 owners (there must be some of you out there?)
Can 3.2 owners please add to this thread what oil you currently run your...
I have asked Audi Customer Services also for confirmation as don't want to have the oil changed to find it didnt need doing.
IN-A3 which dealer out of interest said 503.01 was ok for the 3.2 to you if you don't mind me asking.
Also just as a matter of interest what are the rest of the 3.2...
Ok, true.
Seriously though will resetting the AVS be required? Is this normal practice if oil is changed for any reason before the AVS says the service is rquired. ie. Oil contamination. Like is say if its reset then the service gap from AV1 to AV2 could technincally be longer than 2yrs or...
Issue I have with resetting the AVS will then cause the start of another 2 year interval and will be in total 2years +3months so will look well out of place with the stamps in the service book.
And yes I have made mistakes but not with something I do day in day out and also then say that the...
Right i've now got an answer from the service manager at Brighton Audi (Caffyns). I sent the email on 18/1 and had to chase yesterday. Got told that their IT dept had lost the original so I had to send it again.
I got a letter today saying the oil needs to be changed to LongLife 2.
When I...
