Hi, replacing the injector loom on a BKD is quite straightforward, remove engine cover, cam cover and unclip connectors and multiplug on loom. Be careful not to drop anything down cylinder head!!!! You can pick up used looms for £30-40. ( NOT ADVISED ) OR a new loom will cost around £100+...

Had the same problem on my a3 TDI quattro and it turned out to be the rear propshaft damper. Drove like a different car when I replaced it

Corroded sump?????? Very strange as alluminium doesn't rust.

The vibration is caused by the rear propshaft damper, a worn bearing would cause vibration at all rpm and speeds. The part costs roughly £250 from Audi Inc 4x new bolts. Quite a simple job. Changed 3 of these now including my old a3.
