My mistake, it's not as I said, it's 1 bar idle, on a mighty vac it only registers at 1.5 on full pressure when it should be around 3 bar, that's how the garage have just explained it to me, the lad yesterday got it wrong

New update!! Had the car plugged in to vag com and it's saying car is 1.1 bar of boost when it's idle, and under heavy acceleration it goes upto 1.8/9, what's everyone's thoughts? Possibly boost pressure switch?

I had a similar issue to this my needle bounced around when it was hot, but when it was cold it sat up around 1600, turned out it was the accelerator pedal, easy check, when idle put your foot under the pedal and lift it an hold it up, see if it makes a difference, hope this helps
