To chop or not to chop?

Exactly what he said! I always work out the mileage and the deposit and sometimes the extra fees...then divide it by total months to get the accurate figure. How much did you put down? How many miles? Wher can I get the same deal?

To chop or not to chop?

Thanks for all the replies again. Much appreciated. With regards to the new deal, I had a call from Drive the Deal and they said their best offer with what I want(not taking into account my old car)...was:- £1k in from me and £430 month....10k miles and 48months---£21640 So, £3500 in from me...

To chop or not to chop?

Thanks for the replies guys. So, VT...is it 50% of say...£35k car? Or 50% of the loan amount? I've only paid about £12500 including my £1k down...so, I'm £5k off £17500...? Think my GFV is £17600...and my payments are £386.80 with the added £1k...and it's 48month deal so....£37166? I'm not sure...

    Launch control

Yeah, sorry, I didn't mention that as I figured the op already knew to press the TC button.

    Launch control

A lot of times, Launch Control doesn't engage properly so that's when you get the slight pull like it's fighting the clutch and brake....don't just plant your accelerator the first time just in case it isn't engaged into Launch Control. Once you think you've engaged it, left foot brake then tap...

    Driving Auto in snow

I've driven my Scoob since 2008 and never put winter tyres on it...goes up crazy hills without even a slip and even with other cars sliding backwards...muwahahaha. Even helped drag an old dears car out of a snowy ditch in the hills once. Not driven the S3 in snow yet

    Driving Auto in snow

Had our Golf Mk4 1.6 for 10 years and it was always abandoned by my wife as soon as any snow came down...it was useless...dangerous even....but then a few years back I treated it to Nokian WRD4 and what a difference! I really was blown away...just on the front and it went anywhere in the snow. I...

    Check this out, haldex pump

Mine had a Haldex under warranty last November and I've had a bit of wheels pin on launch control the last couple of days....they were launches in the pouring rain to be fair and it was only a little bit of spin and then it shot off like a scolded cat....but I did wonder wether it's in its way...

    Sale on finance ?

Yeah, it's a 2015 Stronic Sportback ....I only put down £1k so probably about right. The gfv for July 2019 is £17.5k so it seems silly letting it go for around £19k...may aswell rag it....gonna be around £1200 over the mileage by then. If I take a £5k hit and just keep paying the £386 a month...

    Sale on finance ?

My settlement is around £24k with audi finance and yet I'm getting quotes of £18.5k-£21k with 'webuyanycar,mikebrewer,tootle,cash4cars and best car buyer'. Not desperate to sell but my dad just gave me back my Subaru WRX for free and so I now have a Subaru and S3. One is £0 a month and one is...

Facelift Insurance for S3 is a joke this year!

Wow, I'm paying £160 a month for a S3 8V, Subaru Impreza WRX and Focus 1.6 Titanium. On Admiral Multicar. No no claims on the Wrx...10 on the S3 and 9 on the Focus. You guys have got some crazy insurance quotes

Time to consider a family-mobile! Opinions please? And yes it is relevant to 8V owners...

Just come back from South Wales in ours...5hr trip and I didn't do the motorway as we got stuck on the way there on motorways. Lots of sweeping Welsh hills and valleys. S3 Sportback really is all you need with one kid. Our lad is 3 and we have him in a massive Cybex Sirona rear facing seat that...

    S3 8V Launch Control use?

On another note, I saw 42.5mpg on the way home from Wales...and that was in Dynamic with stop/start off and aircon on with recirc. Wowzers!

    S3 8V Launch Control use?

Wow, I have noticed a difference in throttle response. Been in Wales with family for last week so haven't had time to try it out much but I did Launch it once and it felt even better than before....can't believe I've been doing a toned down version all this time.
