I've been changing a front wheel bearing today, all was going well until I snapped the upright while tightening the top pinch bolt (doh).
Anyway, stripping the upright off has freed up the control arms and I've found the rear lower arm (big curved one) incredibly floppy where it bolts into the...
I've noticed the gearbox in my 2015 allroad 272bhp s tronic. Driving into work this morning, I was doing around 15mph and the 'box didn't seem to be able to decide what gear it wanted, as such it seemed to be banging the clutch in and out really quickly. It wasn't changing gear, more taking...
I'd have thought the different offset is from the bigger 19" wheels running slightly wider tyres, the offset will be different to keep the centre line of the tyre in the same place.
It is worth noting that the A6 and Allroad use different sized tyres so keep that in mind when ebay hunting
I've had a good look and I have the d5s bulbs with a measly 2000 lumens.
It looks like there is a morimoto upgrade with 35w rather than 25w or some LED alternatives.
I wonder if the lower power bulbs were brought in to separate them from the led matrix lights, or maybe production costs as the...
I read somewhere (can't remember where) that the facelifted lights are 25 watt d5s bulbs. I'm new to xenon bulbs so have no idea if it's an easy job to swap them to something brighter.
Soot is unburnt carbon which will burn if hot enough with enough oxygen, this is what a regen sees off.
Ash is incombustible material which won't burn no matter how hot it gets, the dpf will only let gas through so ash can only be washed out.
Evening all,
I've got a 2015 Allroad with the HID headlights.
This is the first car I've had with HID lights and I was expecting more. I think I've read somewhere that these cars are fitted with low power bulbs, is this the case and if it is then is it possible to upgrade them?
I like the tight...
On 19" its 686mm vs 711mm, an inch in it, 3mph at 70.
Its not massive so wouldn't be surprised if they left they same transmission in.
The weight could be the main issue but I always figured most of the weight is in the air suspension bits.
Afternoon all, I've been wondering and thought someone may know.
Seeing as the Allroad has bigger diameter tyres than the standard A6, does it also have modified gearing to suit or is it just slightly longer geared?
I've noticed the 0-60 time for an allroad is a bit more than a standard Avant...
Its coming to that time of year again and since I've changed my old A4 for an A6 these won't fit on my car anymore.
The wheels are 17", I don't think they'll fit on the big brakes of an S4 but they were no issues on my 3.0TDI brakes.
The wheels are a bit tatty but I considered them perfect for...
I've got one and played with it for the first month, now it just stays in comfort!
Allroad will jack it up as much as it can depending on the speed you are going (theres a good vid on youtube that tells you the levels )
Comfort and efficiency both keep the ride height at the 2nd bar, as far as...
Hey there,
I've managed to get the background lighting activated (which in the absence of any other lights being fitted just puts on the footwell lights when driving). I haven't managed to get the adjustment on the MMI screen but can adjust it in the adaptations.
I haven't yet fitted the door...
Hi there, I like the 272, I don't know if its because its the allroad but it doesn't feel like a car to rush around in. the power seems plentiful enough and hasn't left me wanting more yet.
The gearbox is pretty good, way better than the old 6 speed tiptronic in my old A4, it can still get a bit...
Turns out it was my meddling that caused the problems. After convincing myself it was a broken switch I bought a second hand roof console which behaved in exactly the same way so ruling out the switch.
The only other thing I'd done was switch on background lighting with my obdeleven device...
It's all of the lights in the roof, they all work with the switches but don't come on with the doors opening.
I've had it on and off a few times now so have checked all the wires.
I've been convincing myself it's the switch but the roof console itself is really tough to get apart so have...
Thanks for the reply, I've tried switching the bulbs back this morning, unfortunately no dice.
I think the next port of call is to bridge the switch to see if that's not working, there's nothing to say it wasn't doing this before the LEDs and I'd just not noticed.
Good morning all.
I'm having a puzzle with my interior lights, I've just installed LED bulbs to all the interior lights-my car doesn't have the lighting pack so is bog standard. The bulbs look excellent, a big improvement.
The issue I have is that the lights in the roof don't come on when the...
Yep, always good to put new tyres on the rear axle.
This is my second quattro Audi and found the tyres on my previous A4 to wear pretty evenly all round, maybe a little more on the outside shoulders at the front but not too much.
