It's the rim protection. Unless you can see the cords it won't fail, may get an advisory. Per the rules:
any ply or cord that can be seen without touching the tyre - fail
if by folding back rubber or opening a cut with a blunt instrument, so as not to cause further damage, exposed ply or cord...
Would love to hear how you do with this. I considered the kufatec kit but that was closer to a grand, ended up getting a car with it spec'ed but not having to wait for it to come up on the used market would have been handy!
That's just the standard "check engine" light, could be anything. Car you get hold of a code reader? Failing that any local garage will be able to pull the codes for you for a few quid, only takes 5 mins
To finish off the thread here are the S5 alloys on the car... The fitment is perfect for me, about 8mm less offset fills the arches nicely with the 255 tyres. Maybe it's a placebo effect but the car feels like it rides better too!
What experience do people have with tyre wear on the S4? I have one with sport diff, do the front tyres wear faster than the rears or vice versa? I was led to believe the S4 is rear biased (poss maybe only with sport diff) so would assume rears wear quicker.
Any thoughts? Thanks
I'm swapping my wheels out for some S5 wheels this weekend with an 8mm less offset (ET32 vs ET40 stock for the S4) and 255s on a 19" 8.5J. should be a similar set up (2mm less) than stock plus 10mm spacer.
I've read it works fine but if not I'll swap the tyres for 245s...
I'm not bothered at all - would love to own a competent EV estate, none on the market yet. Hoping the infrastructure is in the right place to support it in 3(ish) years time when i chop my current car.
Thanks - I've seen those guys. All they have at the moment are sets on winters or 1 set on summers that are run flat for some reason! At the moment I'm worried about import duty given they're in Germany. They're already pricey before you start factoring that in...
I have the 5 V-spoke RS wheels on my S4 and I'm not the biggest fan:
I've been looking to swap them for the for the other stock 5 spokes that are now fitted standard to the S4:
I've been looking for a while and they're as rare as hens' teeth and am starting to think about other options. Has...
You'll need an odb dongle and either the carista app or odbeleven. There would be a cost involved but it's not much. Can't say on the mono DIS but I could enable it in the MMI settings on my golf, I assume similar for the low-res guages
