    They tend to rattle a bit but how much depends on milage and service history and parts replaced. On 60k plus miles it is not uncommon to have a rattle from the vacuum pump, fuel pump cam follower, and injectors are just noisy full stop. 80k and beyond it will be above if not already sorted plus...

    Yes it’s on the side of the gearbox, easy to replace. Replaced mine a few years ago . You need to access from below.

    with the right bezel aftermarket units look fine, i wouldn't go back to the RNS-E now. My Alpine does all i need plus so much more and is fast too.

    Lots of fitting kits out there if you go aftermarket . I have an alpine hu with a connects2 fitting kit etc, full Bose that works fine.

    Have you considered updating to another aftermarket HU with all the tech built-in and ready to go. RNS-E is ok but is a very dated audio setup now and with so many excellent aftermarket options available most guys just go that route now.
