Hello!
I'll be in Bristol next week and I would like to visit a few villages in the Cotswolds area.
As far as I can tell, there is no bus which I could take to get to Castle Combe, for example so I would need a car.
Is there a reliable car sharing service in Bristol which I could use? I only...
Nope! EGR has nothing to do with this.
The rise in oil level may be caused by coolant or fuel leaking in.
The coolant may leak trough cracks in the head or due to bad gasket.
Fuel may leak via tandem pump.
There may be other causes but these are the most common ones.
How is the ride quality?
I've replaced my Bilstein B16 suspension with FK AS Streetline coils because I intend to sell the car.
This new suspension is very noisy at the rear. It sounds like it is loose, like the bolts are not tighten enough and plays.
Is clonking even in straight line.
I had no...
I had the same problem with my 2005 bkd.
First I've completely deleted the egr (egr valve, cooler, pipes etc.). The cooler was leaking. So it is not enough to just blank the valve.
Than I've changed the radiator which was leaking on the bottom right side, complere with new hoses.
In the end, the...
So... NGU code is for an S-tronic gearbox, right?
I saw an A4 Quattro with this NGU gearbox.
VIN decoder says it is a 7 speed box but I'm not sure if it is the tiptronic or S-tronic DQ500.

I have a Superchips Bluefin reprograming tool which I don't need anymore.
I've used it to remap my car long time ago (BKD engine).
I have two maps for it.
If anyone needs it, I'm selling it for £40.
PM me if interested.
In theory. In reality the boost is not depending only on what the ecu asks.
As i said, if the turbo vanes are stuck, the boost will be different than what the ecu asks.
It may "see" this and will go in limp mode.
If a boost pipe is leaking, again, you wont get what ecu asks...
No, the turbo doesn't produce constant boost.
The boost varies depending on what ECU asks. Also the boost varies if the vanes are stuck or the pipes are leaking...
It is useful to check the pressure made by the turbo. Especially with remaps.
To make sure the turbo boosts properly, to see if it over boosts or does not make enough boost.
I had mine removed by the guys who replaced my windscreen.
The arm was stuck on the axle and I was affraid to force it.
I went to pay for the new windscreen and when I returned to the car it was already removed so I don't know if the guy who did it just pulled harder or used a tool.
