Thanks for the reply. It was after driving a friends s-tronic that made me look into it. I rarely use the "manual" mode because there's such a delay. Another thing I don't really like is coming up to a roundabout in third and it not changing down until I pull out into the middle of the road...
Got the problem sorted. I was looking in the totally wrong place. When I wires my head unit I had to move the pins to get the 12v and switched 12v in the right place. Somehow this told the car the hu had been stolen which for some stupid reason shuts down the whole car. Just glad it wasn't an...

Right had a quick google and finding mixed opinions. You say it's easy and near the battery. Other people are saying it's a pain in the **** and it's on the bell housing.

From my understanding the fuel pump is controlled by the ecu as to when it pumps more or less after it receives information from the fuel pressure sensor and the crank sensor. So if either sensor failed it would likely stop it pumping. The worry is that no fault code has come up. I've unplugged...
Tried logging with vcds and reads 0bar while cranking making me think it could be the sensor. No fault codes that would be stopping it starting.

I'm just wondering what the best way to test a high pressure fuel pump as I'm thinking it could be causing issues. The only way I can think of is by removing an injector and turning it over so see if fuel is getting there.
Also what are the most common failures. Am I right in saying the pump...
Went to try running the LPFP this morning through VCDS but it hasnt given me the option in the drop down list.
I went,
Select control module, engine, basic settings and was expecting to see fuel supply pump activation in the drop down list.
Would this be the same method used to fill the fuel filter after it's been changed? Just got vcds today so still getting to grips with it.

It doesnt feel overly slow anyway. Ive tried jumping and charging the battery as I thought the same. I also swapped batteries with another car and there was no noticeable difference. Where would i spray the easy start? Into the intake manifold?
Reading over half a tank anyway. And theres diesel bubbling out when I cracked the nut on the fuel rail. This is becoming a right pain and its now three weeks since it last ran. I was hoping buying VCDS would point out the problem.
I've tried the reboot and it didn't help. The starter is turning yes but no combustion. If the immobiliser was tripped would it throw up a code? Also ive heard if the immobiliser was tripped the car would start but shut off a second later.
Fuses are all ok. The unused cables are just hanging but don't seem to be in contact with anything that would cause problems. No attempt to start at all.
