    What is this sound?

Sounds like the belt and pulley wheel near the alternator. Any electrical issues , battery warning lights ? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    Facelift Brake Clearance, offset, etc…

The way I see it you have two choices, spacers or different wheels with an offset that works with the new calipers Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    Facelift Brake Clearance, offset, etc…

Goes to what I said . 15mm from and 20mm rear seems to be a sensible limit. Possibly less with 19’s. If the calipers protrude 10mm more than standard then that’s the starting point I guess . Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    Facelift Brake Clearance, offset, etc…

Looking at the diagrams I’d say your current setup already has quite a tight tolerance. Same with most S or RS I’d imagine. What you really need to know is how much bigger the Macan calipers are. I think spacers are likely going to be needed. On my S3 with 18” wheels I have 15mm front spacers...

    Fitting side skirt extensions ?

I just used the self tapping screws, no need for adhesive. Easier to fit using axle stands. Second pair of hands to help line up the skirt extension makes an easier job. Are you fitting front splitter ? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    S3 brakes

Hi Al. I put MTEC discs front and rear on my S3 last year. Drilled , slotted and vented. Mintex pads. Discs come in various coatings. Purchased direct from them. Very helpful company. A year on . Discs show barely any wear. Pads have lost maybe 10%. Absolutely awesome stopping power, wrt or...

    Facelift 2017 S3 8v - Coolant question

So in the end after reading through the service record….. Water pump was changed along with the thermostat, no surprise there really. Throttle body gasket replaced and throttle body valve was reset. I’m assuming that’s due to being removed to allow fitting of the water pump and thermostat ...

    Audi Grimsby - JCT600 - Returned S3

Hi Mike. What a terrible experience, sorry it’s turned out like that for you. That really is poor customer service from Audi Grimsby. Have you lodged a complaint to Audi UK ? I certainly would . Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    Facelift 2017 S3 8v - Coolant question

In answer to my own question……. Thermostat housing and water pump are two separate parts. Audi are only replacing the thermostat housing at this point pending warranty approval. The mind boggles why they aren’t doing the pump as well ! Kind of hoping they fit the thermostat housing and find...

You’d think they’d be more robust on a performance model. Must have cost them a fortune in warranty claims. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    Facelift 2017 S3 8v - Coolant question

So the S3 went in today. Oil service and investigate the coolant leak. No surprise…… thermostat housing is leaking. Thankfully under warranty. In the meantime we’re now driving a Q4 etron…….. fully loaded but it ain’t no S3 [emoji849] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    Thinking of buying a used 2019 S3 - advice

Personally I’d go with the main dealer but that’s based on personal experience. I know you pay extra but this is more peace of mind and they’re generally better to deal with. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    Thinking of buying a used 2019 S3 - advice

Should really have had oil service in 2022 and full service in 2023 by my estimation but otherwise seems legitimate. Have you had a test drive ? Check for clutch slip and coolant leaks, chalky white deposits under the bonnet and around hoses . Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
